The editorial initiative wants to make visible internationalization as one of the main historical characters that has defined the ETSAB career and the Barcelona development. The school has always been an important catalyst of the architectonic contemporary debate in the city and its urban area.

Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius, between others, represented a first Avant-garde during the Thirties. Years later, Alvar Aalto, Richard Neutra or Bruno Zevi placed the City in a new center for modernity for the gray days in Franco Regime. Democracy finished the travel: the visit of Rem Koolhaas, Kenneth Frampton, Demetri Porphyrios, Alison & Peter Smithson, Juhani Pallasmaa, Colin Wilson or Manfredo Tafuri are some examples.

This is the main reason why, by ideological affinities, the serial book wants to build a double reconstruction, present and past, teaching in ETSAB and reading in history as one of the best legacies that the students could find in his learning from Barcelona.
