The one-week EMiLA Summer School will take place on the Mediterranean coast, in the city of Marseille. We will investigate the intertwined relationships between the sea, the coast and the city, by concentrating on a site around the biggest beach of Marseille - Les Plages du Prado. We will dive into the cultural meanings and the collective imagination of the beach landscape and project its future evolution in the frame of a rapidly changing maritime, coastal and urban environment.
