The Lake Como Summer School is organized in collaboration with the Comune di Como and with the Order of the Architects of the Province of Como, and will involve teachers and students from the Mantua Seat of Politecnico di Milano and from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona.

The activities will consist in a series of lectures, meetings, reviews with the teachers of the two schools and with some visiting critics. The project regards the creation of a system of temporary structures for the requalification of the open spaces along the urban waterfront and in the historical city. The intervention inside this context, characterized by the presence of many important buildings of the Italian Rationalism – Novocomum and Casa Giuliani-Frigerio on the one hand, the Monument to the Fallen, the seats of the Canottieri Lario and of the Yacht club – should aim not only to the increase of the accessibility and of the attractivity and the development of the urbanity and the outdoor comfort, but also the enhancement of a historical heritage of great value in the architectural culture of the XX century.
