The International Workshop strongly emphasises the essence of a location, serving as a wellspring of inspiration for projects that respect cultural heritage and environmental sustainability. What sets this workshop apart is its dual approach, allowing participants to explore projects in both China and Barcelona, offering a local perspective alongside a global one.

We have selected Barceloneta as our focal point after extensive work in various locations throughout China and Barcelona. Barceloneta stands as the inaugural new neighbourhood developed beyond the historic walls of Barcelona, steeped in a rich history that spans from Enlightenment-era urban planning to the Industrial Revolution and the artistic renaissance triggered by the 1992 Olympic Games.
